Methody Collegians

Methody Collegians was founded in 2003 as a result of the merger of the Methodist College Belfast Old Girls and Old Boys Associations. We aim to help keep you in touch with each other and to support the College and its past and present pupils.

The next few years will be exciting for both Methody and Methody Collegians as we approach the 150th anniversary of the opening of the school.   We intend that the sesquicentennial will have something for everyone. The aim is to showcase Methody’s ethos, history and origins as well as its pupils’ strengths, successes and achievements since 1868.

Over the next year, we will be planning the 150th celebrations in time for the academic year 2018/2019. In addition, there is the parallel challenge of fundraising several million pounds to improve the school’s facilities for the benefit of pupils in the decades ahead.

Apart from the anniversary celebrations and fundraising events, Methody Collegianshas a rolling programme each year of everything from golf tournaments and football  matches, lunches and dinners with entertaining, expertspeakers to table quizzes testing our knowledge (or lack thereof) on esoteric subjects.  All are an opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new ones, so we’d be delighted if you join us at one, some or all of the regular annual events.

There’s an active Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/mcbformerpupils/ and Twitter account (https://twitter.com/mcbformerpupils) if you prefer, we email and send flyers about the annual events calendar.

Please contact us if you are former pupil who is not on our mailing list but would like to receive notification in the future, if you would like to become a member of Methody Collegians or if you wish to make a gift to the College.

Thank you and we look forward to meeting you.

Richard Finlay and Karen McCrea – Joint President 2018-2019
